The founder of the Truth of Spirit (Colin) teaches that: If anybody is in need, irrespective of what that need is, and you are in a position to help, then do so. Do not expect payment or reward for your effort and do not keep account of it. Give freely to all and do not seek notoriety for your deeds. Serve at all times and show respect and love to all things, for all is spirit and all spirit is of God. Through selfless service you will become morally and spiritually excellent (Holy) and for which you will attain God’s favour and oneness with Him.
Many people have an inner desire and need to serve their fellow man but are unsure as to what they can actually do. A good way to serve is to do some voluntary work, maybe for a local charity or charity shop or by offering your skills/time to a voluntary organization. Decide what type of people you would like to help and then set bout considering your options.
You may, for example, want to help the elderly or the in-firmed, and if so, consider contacting organizations that deal specifically in helping these people and offer your services. Maybe you
are aware of a particular area where there is a specific need and you feel or know that you have
something to contribute that will satisfy that need. If this is the case then set about contacting
those people who can allow you to be of assistance. The world is full of opportunities to help
others who are less fortunate than ourselves and it only takes a little thought and application to
begin being of service.
In the spirit of true service
consider using your time and your talent
to help all those you can, in whatever way you can,
as many musicians did, raising funds for Live Aid.
